7 TV Shows That Should Have Ended Sooner

TV shows are a rich source of entertainment for many. They provide countless hours of fun, they make people laugh, cry, shiver, and take them into a world of imagination, far away from reality.

While the world of television may be filled with phenomenal TV titles that live up to our expectations, there are a few shows in the mix that were not ready to throw in the towel even though it was long overdue.

We have listed down some of these show that have either made peace with their misery and wrapped up or are still desperately struggling to carry on.

SPOILER ALERT! Before you go on, be warned that there may be some crucial plot details that may ruin a TV show for you if you are watching it.

Castle

Castle started off as an interesting comedy-crime drama where wealthy mystery novelist, Richard Castle (portrayed by Nathan Fillion), decides to tag along with the detectives of the NYPD homicide squad for research purposes.

Initially, the combo of Castle’s goofy quirks and Kate’s (portrayed by Stana Katic) level-headed nature seemed to do the trick. However, once the leading couple embarked on their romantic journey, the show lost its touch. The show even went as far as to enter a whole new genre where Castle entered an alternate reality in season 7.

Scrubs

Scrubs may have provided people with an ample amount of medical humor, tummy-tickling puns, professional and personal drama, but the show was not able to bear the loss of one of its major cast members

After season 8, when J.D (portrayed by Zach Braff), was no longer on the show, the series returned with one final season. However, changes in cast and the lack of newer content caused fans to lose interest completely. Fortunately, it did not return for a tenth installment.

The Vampire Diaries

The departure of a major cast member is often the reason for any TV show’s demise. This is again what happened with the show, The Vampire Diaries. The story originally kicked off as a conventional love triangle between Elena (portrayed by Nina Dobrev), Stefan (portrayed by Paul Wesley), and Damon (portrayed by Ian Somerhalder). But eventually, it went off track and opted for something else entirely.

After Nina Dobrev left the show in season 6, fans gave it a red light, but it still kept on going. It took some time for them to realize but the creators eventually wrapped up the series after two more seasons.

Grey’s Anatomy

This show originally appeared on screens as a story about a group of doctors and their professional cum personal drama and then almost every possible natural disaster, injury, disease, death, break-up became a part of the show.

The series has had several moments that scream out loud that the show must be abandoned, but the creators are not yet ready to give up. The show is expected to make its return for the 17th season in March 2021.

The Walking Dead

Another TV show that is still not ready to call quits is this zombie drama. The show is still continuing with its 10th season with the 11th season already in consideration. The story started off with Sheriff Deputy Rick Grimes (portrayed by Andrew Lincoln) finding out that the world is no longer as it was and must take on the responsibility of leading the survivors.

However, when Lincoln left the show after nine seasons, things started to fall off. Let’s be honest, he was the protagonist of the show; expecting the show to thrive without this character is naivety.

Money Heist

The concept of 9 random strangers coming together to rob the Royal Mint of Spain was nothing short of unimaginable. The show had all the right elements during season 1 to engage the audience. There was drama, action, suspense, comedy, and all of them in the right ratios.

However, the show overran its course by continuing after the heist had ended. There is debate among many people whether the show should have ended after the first, second, or third season, but it is still returning after the fourth season.

Suits

Suits featured a unique storyline about two cocky corporate lawyers in New York, or at least one lawyer and the other, not so much. The show features two hotshot lawyers: Harvey Specter (portrayed by Gabriel Macht) and Mike Ross (portrayed by Patrick J. Adams).

The initial period of the series focused on Mike Ross’s life as he tries to make it as an attorney in New York despite not having any law degree. The show was quite interesting till the show revolved around Mike’s secret. However, the producers opted to carry on with the show even after the mystery was over, which seemed to be a huge drag.
